These databases include bibliographic details that describe information resources. In some instances the full document may also be included.

Australian Education Index (AEI)
This subscription based online database produced by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) contains over 150,000 entries from 1978 to the present. Coverage of subject areas including early childhood to adult and continuing education, curriculum, educational history, planning and policy, and educational systems and institutions is comprehensive for Australian resources and selective for international information. A sub-set of AEI which is free to search, EdResearch Online contains over 28,000 articles from more than 200 Australian education journals. PDF copies of articles from this database may be purchased for a fee.

British Education Index (BEI)
This subscription based online database contains references and subject descriptions of articles predominately published in the UK or Europe about all aspects and fields of education and training from preschool to adult and higher education. A sub-set of BEI, Education-line provides free access to the full text of conference papers, working papers and electronic literature which supports educational research, policy and practice in the UK. The BEI website provides further information about the types of documents and the criteria used for inclusion, its subscriptions, conference services and partnerships with other organisations.

Database of research in international education
This searchable database contains details of over 7,000 books, articles, conference papers and reports on various aspects of international education from publishers in Australia and overseas, published from 1990 onwards, a period of major change in education systems around the world and in the trade in educational services. The user may undertake a quick search or advanced search to find relevant information or browse by research organisation, country and publisher.

This website provides free access to thousands of Australian online resources for education, training and research organised by Early Childhood, School, Vocational Education and Training, Adult and Community and Higher Education sectors. It also provides a platform for collaboration amongst educators in Australia and internationally. The website provides links to resources listed by education sector where the user can search or browse the content along with the latest education news and listings of recently added resources.

Education Research Complete
This subscription based online database produced by EBSCO, indexes and abstracts information from more than 2,000 education journals. Full text is provided for more than 1,000 of these journals, numerous education-related conference papers and many books and monographs. Topics covered range from early childhood to higher education, curriculum instruction, administration, policy, funding and related social issues.

Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC)
This freely accessible online database provides access to over 1 million bibliographic records of predominantly US published journal articles and other education related materials, however there is an increasing amount of internationally sourced material being added. Where possible, links to full text of documents are being included – to both new resources and retrospectively. The ERIC website provides access to the search platform for the database along with other information about its program, resources, collection development and to areas designed for specific interest groups such as librarians, publishers and authors.

Effective Literacy Practice
Established by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) this website provides free access to a database containing examples of effective literacy and numeracy programmes worldwide. The database aims to facilitate access to information on adult literacy and numeracy programmes; share experiences and gain a global overview of available programmes; identify current trends, challenges and innovative approaches, and encourage synergies, partnerships, networking and cooperation. The database may be searched by keywords, region or country, themes, target groups or by browsing a list of all programmes.

Eurybase
Produced by Eurydice, this database provides free access to detailed information on each education system covered by the Eurydice network. The descriptions of European education systems are updated annually in English and often also in their national language. Access to the information is via searchable content pages, by country or by keyword search.

EVE (Espace virtual d'echange)
Established in 2009, this database contains results from projects financed by programmes managed by the European Commission in the fields of Education, Training, Culture, Youth and Citizenship. It also has information about hundreds of projects and their results funded under the 2000-2006 Education and Culture Programmes such as: Leonardo da Vinci, Culture 2000, European Active Citizenship, Youth and Socrates (including Comenius, Grundtvig, Erasmus). Information about projects and results may be browsed for or by undertaking a simple search or using the advanced search option. Types of information available include: Learning materials, handbooks, manuals, CDs; Projects websites, link to different databases; Personal testimonials from project participants; Documents and guidelines; Associations and European partnerships. 

ProQuest Career and Technical Information
ProQuest creates specialised information resources and technologies for the information and research professional. Its subscription based online database, covering career and technical education information resources, references over 500 magazines, journals and trade titles with full text links to more than 470 of them. Topics covered include auto mechanics, building trades, computing sciences, healthcare and graphic design. The ProQuest website provides further information about their products and services, how to access subscription based databases and support and training services on offer.

VET-Bib
This freely available online database contains information about vocational education and training (VET) in the European Union, both from the Member States and from European and international organisations. The multilingual collections contain information on research reports, legislation, statistics and comparative studies with many available as full text. Topics covered include training systems, recognition of qualifications, professional occupations and lifelong learning. The database allows basic and advanced searching, browsing and the option to personalise the display format.

VOCED
This freely available online database references information about vocational education and training research, policy and practice in Australia and internationally. It contains over 38,000 entries with more than 11,000 links to full text of documents including journal articles, research reports and conference papers. The VOCED website provides, in addition to the database, access to listings of journals indexed and the most recently added entries. Special collections of documents, Landmark Reports and Key Resources, contain links to full text of documents that have influenced the development of vocational education and training (VET) in Australia and internationally.
